Last year, CLASS Day Program participants, along with staff, decided that we would like to help people in need as a community awareness project.
With the holiday season coming up, we have decided once again, that we would like to continue the good work and good will from last year, and have another food drive and donate all items collected to food banks and/or shelters. We also would like to collect clothing and hygiene items as well. We are asking for assistance from providers, family members, friends and anyone else who would like to help. Last year, we donated food, clothing and hygiene items to The Gathering Place and The Crossing/Denver Rescue Mission.
Starting October 2nd, we will begin collecting non-perishable food items, and will continue to collect the items until November 16th, at which time we will donate the items to as many organizations as possible. Non-perishable items include canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, Ramon Noodle Soup, and other items that will not spoil.
We will begin collecting clothing and hygiene items October 16th through November 16th. We ask for new, unopened hygiene items such as shampoo, soap, shaving items, etc. We also ask for new or “gently used” clothing such as coats, sweaters, socks, gloves, as well as any other clothing items in good condition.
Items can also be dropped off at CLASS – 1770 S. Helena Street, Aurora CO 80017 Monday -Thursday 9:00-2:00.
Thank you in advance for your help. CLASS is a proud part of the Aurora community, and I’m proud and happy to say that the people who attend our program are willing to help those in need.
