A few years ago, CLASS Day Program participants along with staff, decided that we would like to help people in need as a community awareness project.
With the holiday season coming up, we have decided once again, that we would like to continue the good work and good will from past years and have another food & clothing drive and donate all items collected to food banks and/or shelters. We also would like to collect clothing and hygiene items. We are asking for assistance from providers, family members friends and anyone else who would like to help. Last year, we donated food, clothing and hygiene items to The Life Center of Aurora.
Starting October 15th, we will begin collecting non-perishable food items, and will continue to collect the items until November 22nd, at which time we will donate the items to as many organizations as possible. Non-perishable items include: canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, Ramon Noodle Soup and other items that will not spoil.
At the same time, we will also begin collecting clothing and hygiene items. We are asking for new, unopened hygiene items, such as shampoo, soap, shaving items, etc. We also ask for new or “genlty used” clothing such as coats, sweaters, socks, gloves, as well as any other clothing items in good condition. We would love to collect as many pairs of socks as possible, as it has been reported that socks are a much needed item.
Items can be dropped off at CLASS – 1770 S. Helena St. Aurora, CO 80017 Monday-Thursday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm!
